Project Summary

The Taysan Project is a large-scale copper–gold porphyry deposit strategically located in Batangas Province, approximately 100 kilometres south of Manila, Philippines. Outcropping at surface, open at depth and along strike, the deposit lends itself to open pit mining with an estimated operating life exceeding 28 years.

Supported by extensive historical exploration (>82,000m drilling), a 968 Mt Mineral Resource and 2026 independent technical and economic assessment, the project has the potential to become a significant copper-gold producer in the Philippines.

With strong projected financial returns, established regional infrastructure and opportunities for further resource growth, Taysan is positioned as a cornerstone asset in Hawk Copper and Gold’s development strategy.

Project Highlights: A World-Class Copper–Gold Development Opportunity in the Philippines

  • Significant Mineral Resource: 459Mt of Measured and Indicated Resources at 0.35% CuEq containing approximately 2.6 Blb of Cu and 1.48Moz Au plus substantial silver and magnetite credits.
  • Upside Potential: Additional 509Mt Inferred Resources at 0.26% CuEq plus blue-sky expansion potential within the licence area with further targets already identified from geophysics.
  • Long-Life Operation: 369.21 Mt of scheduled mill feed at 0.37% CuEq, supporting >28 year Life-of-Mine, providing the foundation for sustained copper production in the region.
  • Simple Scalable Production: Conventional open-pit mining operation feeding a 15 Mtpa flotation plant, commencing at 7.5 Mtpa ramping up in Year 6.
  • Strong Project Economics: Estimated US$2.1 billion net present value (NPV8) and 48.3% internal rate of return, based on the 2026 Competent Persons Report.
  • Attractive Capital Profile: Estimated initial development capital of US$523 million, with a phased expansion strategy.
  • Strategic Location: Situated in an established industrial region with access to roads, power infrastructure and the deep-water port at Batangas.

Project History

Southern Batangas Province, where the Taysan Project is located, is a well-known mineralised district with a long history of copper and gold mining. Mineralisation was first formally recognised as a porphyry copper outcrop in 1968. Since then, the Taysan Project has been explored and drilled extensively by a number of companies, including 95 drill holes completed by Crazy Horse Resources between 2010-2011 and culminating in a Pre-Feasibility Study in 2012. Hawk Copper became involved in the project in 2025 working with PMCPI who currently hold the licence.

2012 Mineral Resources

A global resource estimate for the Taysan Project was undertaken by Mining Associates Pty Ltd in 2012 using standard Surpac block models. Grade was interpolated using Ordinary Kriging within grade wireframes which were based on 0.1% and 0.3% Cu grade cut-off. The estimation was based on historical and the more recent CZH drillhole data.

Local Environment

The exploration licence covers a 3,257 Ha exploration licence which is extendable until 2031, and the area is characterised by flat-lying bush and scrubland. The Taysan Project is located in a sparsely populated area, with local communities largely employed small-scale farming. The surrounding region is industrial, with major cement works and multiple quarries located in and near the project licence area. The licence area is covered by 13 separate Barangays who are supportive of the project. Environmental baseline surveys have commenced in October 2026.

Local Infrastructure

The Taysan Project benefits from well-established local infrastructure, including a 67 kV power line and substation located on the project site, with industrial power costs of $0.13/kWh(1). The surrounding area is served by a concrete road network that supports the local quarrying and cement industries.

A deepwater port in Batangas City is located 20 km away, approximately 45 minutes via the local road network.

The country also offers access to skilled labour supported by its established mining industry.

As copper demand rises and supply becomes increasingly challenging to develop, Taysan is positioned to benefit from the growing strategic importance of large-scale copper project.
